Lesson Objectives
- Define assertiveness and use assertive body language, tone of voice, and words.
- Know the Stand Strong Safety Skills: 1) Know what’s safe; 2) Be assertive; 3) Tell a safe grown-up you trust; 4) Keep telling; 5) It’s not your fault.
- Practice assertive behavior.
Materials & Preparation
- Puppets: Panda, Puppy, Bunny, and Penguin
- Playdough, Styrofoam, or shoe box to hold puppets.
- Stand Strong • Stay Safe Rules Poster on the wall or easle for reference.
- Home Connection for Lesson 1, one for each student to take home.
- Prepare the puppets prior to the lesson by using glue or tape to attach the sticks to the base of the laminated puppet images.
