Louisa brings more than 32 years of experience in public education to ChildBuilders, along with a deep and enduring passion for social-emotional learning (SEL). She earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University.
She began her career teaching high school English in Victoria ISD before moving to Houston, where she spent a decade as a middle school language arts teacher in Cy-Fair ISD. Driven by a desire to expand her impact and focus more intentionally on student well-being, Louisa devoted the next 20 years to serving as an elementary school counselor in Spring Branch ISD. It was during this time that her commitment to social-emotional education and whole-child development truly flourished.
Throughout her career, Louisa has remained passionate about empowering children to reach their fullest potential. Her experience and dedication align seamlessly with ChildBuilders’ mission to strengthen children’s mental health and equip them with the skills they need to thrive in school and in life.
