Key Accomplishments

ChildBuilders served 48,797 children and adults, in FY25 across 16 school districts and community organizations—an 11% increase over FY24, following a 28% increase from FY23 to FY24. This steady post-COVID growth reflects rising demand and our commitment to expanding impact each year.

This year, ChildBuilders expanded partnerships to include Alvin ISD, Santa Fe ISD, and Aldine ISD, including Aldine ISD Head Start programs. Spring Branch ISD and Galena Park ISD both renewed their longstanding partnerships, inviting ChildBuilders to train all elementary counselors in the Stand Strong • Stay Safe curriculum. Our success is rooted in our responsiveness to community needs. We begin every partnership by listening—identifying challenges, offering tailored solutions, and customizing programs for each district. By providing district-wide training and long-term implementation support, we help drive meaningful, system-level changes across schools.

To sustain this growth, we also advanced fundraising and leadership. We secured two years of funding from the Powell Foundation to support targeted programming in high-need urban districts and received first-time support from the Permanent Endowment Fund to expand services to Galveston ISD and Galveston Island. Additionally, we welcomed Ehsan Bayat of New Dawn Energy to our Board of Directors, who contributed three months of weekly newsletter articles—further strengthening our community outreach and leadership capacity.

Guided by the leadership of our board and team, ChildBuilders’ five-year strategic plan (FY26–FY30) is now published and anchored in three key priorities.

First, we aim to expand our reach by serving 55% more children and the adults in their lives by 2030 through new partnerships in diverse settings, deeper engagement with existing partners, and the development of accessible online learning platforms for parents and professionals.

Second, we will improve program effectiveness by assessing the impact and scalability of ChildBuilders’ programs through data collection, using findings to enhance curriculum relevance and implement robust program evaluations and revision.

Third, we seek to cultivate new and existing funding opportunities by developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan, addressing staffing needs, recruiting a diverse and supportive board, and exploring sustainable income strategies through school-based and digital programming.

In 2025, ChildBuilders proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of impact in promoting mental health and preventing child abuse through high-quality, evidence-informed programs. Year after year, we’ve approached this mission with determination and a deep commitment to the communities we serve. This year, we reached a transformative milestone: one million children and over 34,000 parents, caregivers, and educators have now benefited from our programs. This extraordinary achievement reflects not only the strength of our vision, but also the trust and support of our partners, donors, and schools.

To honor this milestone, we hosted our first-ever Bingo event, bringing together supporters and partners for a fun and memorable event.

During our Annual Celebration event in January, we honored Fort Bend ISD as the Distinguished School District, Amigos Por Vida as Outstanding Campus, and Royce Henley as the Inspiring Presenter of the year for their remarkable contribution to our programs.
